Choosing to Stay Together

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger gave the option of divorce to 'A'isha, but she chose to stay with him and he did not count anything as divorce.

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Messenger gave us the option (to get divorce), but me made a choice of him and he did not count anything (as divorce) in regard to us.

QUICK LESSONS:
Make an effort in your marriage , Consider all options available before taking any action , Respect your partner’s decision .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of staying together in a marriage. It tells us that even when Allah's Messenger gave his wife, 'A'isha, the option of getting divorced, she chose to stay with him instead. This shows us that it is important for couples to make an effort and try their best to work through any issues they may have in their marriage rather than resorting straight away to divorce. The hadith also teaches us that if one partner chooses not to get divorced then the other should respect this decision and not count anything as a form of separation or divorce. This is an important lesson for couples today who are considering getting divorced; they should think carefully before making such a big decision and consider all options available before taking any action.
