Sahih Muslim 715l (Book 17, Hadith 77) #10781
Treating Women with Respect

SUMMARY: Women should be treated with respect and kindness, as they are delicate and should not be forced to change.

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger as saying: Woman is like a rib. When you attempt to straighten it, you would break it. And if you leave her alone you would benefit by her, and crookedness will remain in her.

QUICK LESSONS:
Treat women with respect and kindness

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of treating women with respect and kindness. It is narrated by Abu Huraira that Allah's Messenger said that a woman is like a rib, meaning that she is delicate and should not be forced to change. If one attempts to straighten her, it would break her, but if one leaves her alone they will benefit from her. This hadith teaches us that women should be treated kindly and respectfully as they are delicate creatures who can easily be broken if mistreated or forced into something against their will. We must remember this when interacting with them in our daily lives so we can benefit from their presence in our lives without causing any harm or distress to them.
