Rewards of Enduring Hardships in Medina

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the rewards of enduring hardships and rigours in Medina.

Abdullah b. 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) said: I heard Allah's Messenger as saying: He who patiently endured the hardships and rigours of (this city, i. e. Medina), I would be his witness and intercessor on the Day of Resurrection.
وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ، عَنْ قَطَنٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ يُحَنِّسَ، مَوْلَى مُصْعَبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ مَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى لأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ يَعْنِي الْمَدِينَةَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the rewards of enduring hardships and rigours in Medina. It was narrated by Abdullah b. 'Umar who heard it from Allah's Messenger that whoever patiently endures the difficulties and struggles of living in Medina will be his witness on the Day of Resurrection and will intercede for him. This hadith teaches us to be patient when facing difficulties as Allah will reward us for our patience with His mercy on the Day of Judgment. It also encourages us to strive to live a life full of good deeds so that we can benefit from this reward on that day. Furthermore, it reminds us that we should always seek help from Allah during times of hardship as He is always there to help us through them if we turn to Him with sincere faith and trust in Him alone.
