Traveling with a Mahram

SUMMARY: A woman should not travel alone for more than three days without a Mahram.

Abu Sa'id (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger as saying: A woman should not set out on three (days') journey, but in the company of a Mahram.
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ سَهْمِ بْنِ، مِنْجَابٍ عَنْ قَزَعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ لاَ تُسَافِرِ الْمَرْأَةُ ثَلاَثًا إِلاَّ مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ
