This Hadith is about how Abd al-Malik b. Marwan wanted to demolish and expand the area of the Ka’bah, but upon hearing from Harith ibn Abdullah ibn Abu Rabi’a that Aisha had heard Prophet Muhammad say not to do so, he decided against it out of respect for her words and for what she heard from Prophet Muhammad himself. This Hadith teaches us about respecting those who are close to us in faith such as our parents or teachers, as well as respecting what they have heard from Prophet Muhammad himself even if we don't understand why they are saying something or why we should follow their advice at first glance. It also teaches us about preserving sacred places like mosques or other holy sites which should be respected by all Muslims regardless of their differences in opinion on other matters related to religion or politics.
