Sacrifice During Hajj

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Hajj of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and how a group of seven people shared in the sacrifice of one animal.

Jabir b. 'Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them), describing the Hajj of Allah's Apostle said: He (the Holy Prophet) commanded us as we had entered into the state of Ihram to sacrifice the animals (as a rite of Hajj) and a group (of person; amongst us, i. e. seven) shared in the sacrifice of one (camel or cow), and it happened at that time when he commanded them to put off Ihram for Hajj (after performing 'Umra).

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow commands from Prophet Muhammad, share resources with others, perform rituals according to Islamic teachings .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Hajj, which is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca that Muslims are required to do at least once in their lifetime if they are able. It was narrated by Jabir b. 'Abdullah who described how Prophet Muhammad commanded them to sacrifice animals as part of the ritual and a group of seven people shared in sacrificing one animal when they were commanded to take off their Ihram after performing Umrah. This teaches us that it is important for Muslims to be generous with what they have and share with others, even if it means sacrificing something valuable or precious for them. It also shows us that we should follow the commands given by Prophet Muhammad as he was sent by Allah as a messenger and guide for all mankind.
