SUMMARY: Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said that there is no harm in sacrificing animals, shaving one's head, throwing of pebbles, and the order of precedence and succession.

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect other people's beliefs even if they differ from yours

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the permissibility of certain practices such as sacrificing animals, shaving one's head, throwing pebbles at a pillar during Hajj pilgrimage and the order of precedence and succession. It is important to note that these practices are permissible but not mandatory. Sacrificing animals is an act done to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail for Allah’s sake. Shaving one’s head is done as part of the rituals during Hajj pilgrimage while throwing pebbles at a pillar symbolizes stoning Satan who tried to tempt Prophet Ibrahim from obeying Allah’s commandment. Lastly, precedence and succession refer to taking turns in performing certain acts or duties in an orderly manner. All these practices are permissible but not mandatory according to this hadith which teaches us that we should respect other people’s beliefs even if they differ from ours.
