Sahih Muslim 1273a (Book 15, Hadith 280) #10215
Visibility of Prophet Muhammad During Farewell Pilgrimage

SUMMARY: On the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) circumambulated the Kaaba on a riding camel and touched the Stone with his stick to make himself visible to people so they could ask him questions about religion.

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger circumambulated the House on the back of his riding camel on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage and touched the Stone with his stick so that the people should see him, and he should be conspicuous, and they should be able to ask him (questions pertaining to religion) as the people had crowded round him.

QUICK LESSONS:
Ride around Kaaba on a camel; Touch Black Stone with stick; Be visible; Be accessible; Strive for knowledge; Understand faith correctly .

EXPLANATIONS:
During his final pilgrimage, Prophet Muhammad wanted to make sure that everyone was able to see him and ask him questions about religion. To do this, he rode around the Kaaba on a camel and touched the Black Stone with his stick so that everyone could see where he was going. This allowed people to come up close and ask their questions directly from Prophet Muhammad himself. By doing this, he showed us how important it is for religious leaders to be visible and accessible in order for people to learn more about their faith. He also taught us that we should always strive for knowledge in order to better understand our faith and practice it correctly.
