QUICK LESSONS:
Follow commands given by Prophet Muhammad , Fulfill religious obligations and duties as Muslims
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's commandment for his followers to change their state of Ihram from one of performing the pilgrimage of Hajj to that of performing the lesser pilgrimage of Umra. The term "Ihram" refers to a special state in which Muslims enter when they are about to perform either a major or minor pilgrimage. During this state, certain restrictions are placed on them such as abstaining from certain activities and wearing specific clothing. In this hadith, it is mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad commanded his followers who were pronouncing Talbiya for Hajj - which is an invocation made by pilgrims during their journey -to make their Ihram into that of an Umra instead. This shows us how important it was for Muslims at the time and even today to follow the commands and teachings given by Prophet Muhammad in order for them to be successful in fulfilling their religious obligations and duties as Muslims.
