The Last Ten Nights of Ramadan

SUMMARY: During the last ten nights of Ramadan, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would stay up late to pray and wake his family to do the same.

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that when the last ten nights began Allah's Messenger kept awake at night (for prayer and devotion), wakened his family, and prepared himself to observe prayer (with more vigour).
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، - قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، - عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، - رضى الله عنها - قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ أَحْيَا اللَّيْلَ وَأَيْقَظَ أَهْلَهُ وَجَدَّ وَشَدَّ الْمِئْزَرَ

EXPLANATIONS:
During the last ten nights of Ramadan, Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) would stay up late to pray and wake his family to do the same. This is a sign of devotion and worship that Muslims should strive for during this holy month. It is important for Muslims to take advantage of these blessed days by increasing their prayers and acts of worship in order to gain more rewards from Allah. Additionally, it is important for families to come together during this time in order to strengthen their bond with each other as well as with Allah. By doing so, they can ensure that they are able to reap all the benefits that come along with this special month.
