The Rewards of Fasting in Shawwal

SUMMARY: Fasting for six days in Shawwal after Ramadan is equivalent to fasting perpetually.

Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger as saying: He who observed the fast of Ramadan and then followed it with six (fasts) of Shawwal. it would be as if he fasted perpetually.

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast for 6 days in shawal after ramadan

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari highlights the rewards of fasting during the month of Shawwal after completing the fast of Ramadan. According to this hadith, if a person fasts for six days in the month of Shawwal after completing their fast during Ramadan it is as if they have been fasting perpetually. This means that Allah will reward them greatly for their devotion and dedication to fasting and worshipping Him. It is important to note that these extra six days do not need to be consecutive; rather they can be spread out over time as long as they are completed within the same month. This hadith serves as an encouragement for Muslims to continue worshipping Allah even after completing their obligatory duties such as fasting during Ramadan.
