Fasting at the End of Ramadan

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised a person to fast for one or two days at the end of Ramadan.

'Imran b. Husain (Allah be pleased with them) reported that the Messenger of Allah said to a person: Did you observe fast in the middle of this month. i. e. Sha'ban? He said: #Thereupon he said to him: When it is the end of Ramadan, then observe fast for one day or two (Shu'ba had some doubt about it) but he said: I think that he has said: two days.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَخِي، مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفًا، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، - رضى الله عنهما - أَنَّ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ ‏"‏ هَلْ صُمْتَ مِنْ سِرَرِ هَذَا الشَّهْرِ شَيْئًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ يَعْنِي شَعْبَانَ ‏.‏ قَالَ لاَ ‏.‏ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ ‏"‏ إِذَا أَفْطَرْتَ رَمَضَانَ فَصُمْ يَوْمًا أَوْ يَوْمَيْنِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ شُعْبَةُ الَّذِي شَكَّ فِيهِ قَالَ وَأَظُنُّهُ قَالَ يَوْمَيْنِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Imran b. Husain, may Allah be pleased with him, speaks about fasting in the month of Sha'ban and how it is recommended to fast for one or two days at the end of Ramadan. This hadith encourages Muslims to observe fasting as an act of worship and devotion towards Allah Almighty. It also teaches us that we should strive to do good deeds even after completing our obligations such as fasting during Ramadan, as this will bring us closer to Allah and increase our rewards in the hereafter. Furthermore, this hadith reminds us that we should always strive for excellence in all aspects of life and not just settle for fulfilling our basic obligations but rather go beyond them in order to gain more rewards from Allah Almighty.
