Fasting and Self-Control

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was offered food while he was fasting, but he chose to continue fasting.

'A'isha, the Mother of the Believers (Allah be pleased with her), reported: The Apostle of Allah came to me one day and said: Is there anything with you (to eat)? I said: #Thereupon he said: I shall then be fasting. Then he came to us another day and we said: Messenger of Allah, Hais has been offered to us as a gift. Thereupon he said: Show that to me; I had been fasting since morning. He then ate it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Practice self control and abstinence in your daily life.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of self-control and abstinence. It shows that even though Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was offered food while he was fasting, he chose to continue his fast as an act of self-control. This teaches us that we should strive to practice self-control in our daily lives by abstaining from things that are not beneficial for us or our faith. We should also remember that Allah rewards those who practice self control and abstinence in their lives.
