Sahih al-Bukhari 1022 (Book 15, Hadith 17) #986
Invoking Allah for Rain

SUMMARY: Invoking Allah for rain and offering two Rak'a prayers with loud recitation without pronouncing Adhan or Iqama.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Yazid Al-Ansari that he went out with Al-Bara' bin 'Azib, and Zaid bin Arqam and invoked for rain. He ('Abdullah bin Yazid) stood up but not on a pulpit and invoked Allah for rain and then offered two Rak'a prayers with loud recitation without pronouncing Adhan or Iqama. Abu Ishaq said that 'Adbullah bin Yazid had seen the Prophet (doing the same)

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of invoking Allah for rain. It was narrated by Abdullah bin Yazid Al-Ansari that he went out with Al-Bara' bin 'Azib and Zaid bin Arqam to invoke Allah for rain. He stood up but not on a pulpit and invoked Allah for rain and then offered two Rak’a prayers with loud recitation without pronouncing Adhan or Iqama. This hadith also shows us that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did the same when he invoked Allah for rain. We can learn from this hadith that we should always turn to our Creator in times of need, no matter how big or small it may be. We should also remember to recite our prayers loudly as it is an important part of prayer itself.
