Sahih Muslim 1152 (Book 13, Hadith 216) #9855
The Gate of Rayyan

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that on the Day of Resurrection, there will be a special gate in Paradise called Rayyan which will only be opened for those who fasted during their lifetime.

Sahl b. Sa'd (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger as saying: In Paradise there is a gate which is called Rayyan through which only the people who fast would enter on the Day on Resurrection. None else would enter along with them. It would be proclaimed: Where are the people who fast that they should be admitted into it? And when the last of them would enter, it would be closed and no one would enter it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast sincerely with faith and hope in Allah's mercy

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of fasting and how it can lead to great rewards in the afterlife. On the Day of Resurrection, there will be a special gate in Paradise called Rayyan which will only be opened for those who fasted during their lifetime. It is said that this gate is so beautiful and magnificent that no one else would want to enter any other gate once they have seen it. Furthermore, when all those who fasted have entered through this gate, it would then be closed and no one else would enter through it. This shows us how important fasting is as an act of worship and how much reward Allah has prepared for those who do so sincerely with faith and hope in His mercy.
