Eating and Drinking During Tashriq Days

SUMMARY: The days of Tashriq are days to eat and drink.

Nubaisha al-Hudhali reported Allah's Messenger as saying: The days of Tashriq are the days of eating and drinking.
وَحَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ، عَنْ نُبَيْشَةَ، الْهُذَلِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ أَيَّامُ التَّشْرِيقِ أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the days of Tashriq which are special days in Islam. These are the three days after Eid al-Adha when Muslims sacrifice animals as an act of worship. On these three days it is permissible for Muslims to eat and drink as much as they want. This hadith encourages us to take advantage of these special occasions by eating and drinking in moderation while also remembering Allah's blessings upon us. It reminds us that we should be thankful for all that we have been given by Allah and use it wisely.
