Sahih Muslim 1109e (Book 13, Hadith 100) #9739
Fasting Despite Junub State

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) getting up in the morning in a state of junub and still observing fast.

Sulaiman b. Yasar reported that he asked Umm Salama whether a person (who gets up) in the morning in a state of junub should observe fast. She said: The Messenger of Allah (at times) got up in the morning in a state of junub, not because of sexual dreams (but on account of intercourse at night), and then observed fast.

QUICK LESSONS:
Observe Fast despite being Junbun
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of fasting during Ramadan even if one wakes up in a state of junub due to intercourse at night. It shows that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was an example for us to follow and that he too observed fast despite being in a state of junub. This teaches us that we should not let any physical or spiritual obstacle stop us from fulfilling our religious obligations and duties as Muslims. We should strive to be like Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and take him as an example for our lives so we can be successful both here on Earth and hereafter in Paradise.
