Keeping Promises and the Flexibility of Time

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) took an oath to not visit his wives for a month, but he ended up visiting them after twenty-nine days.

Zuhri reported that (once) the Messenger of Allah took an oath that he would not go to his wives for one Month. Zuhri said that 'Urwa narrated to him from 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) that she said: When twenty-nine nights were over, which I had counted, the Messenger of Allah came to me (he came to me first of all). I said: Messenger of Allah, you had taken an oath that you would not come to us for a month, whereas you have come after twenty nine days which I have counted. Whereupon he said: The month may also consist of twenty-nine days.

QUICK LESSONS:
Keep your promises

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of keeping promises and being flexible with time. The Prophet Muhammad took an oath that he would not go to his wives for one month, however, when twenty-nine nights were over, he came back to them. This shows us that even though we should keep our promises, it is also important to be flexible with time and understand that sometimes things can change or take less or more time than expected. It also teaches us the importance of understanding Allah's will in all matters as He knows best what is best for us in any given situation.
