The Length of Ramadan

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that the month of Ramadan is thirty days long.

Abdullah b. 'Umar (Allah be pleased with both of them) reported Allah's Messenger as saying: The month (of Ramadan) is thus and thus, and thus. ie ten, ten and nine.
وَحَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَكَّائِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، - رضى الله عنهما - عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا عَشْرًا وَعَشْرًا وَتِسْعًا

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Abdullah b. 'Umar states that the month of Ramadan is thirty days long, which is ten days in each third of the month.
