Praying on a Mount

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to offer voluntary prayers on his mount facing its direction by signals, and also used to pray witr on it.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet used to offer (Nawafil) prayers on his Rahila (mount) facing its direction by signals, but not the compulsory prayer. He also used to pray witr on his (mount) Rahila.

QUICK LESSONS:
Offer voluntary prayers in addition to obligatory ones . Take advantage of any opportunity you have for praying . Make use of unconventional circumstances for worshipping Allah SWT .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was known for his devotion to prayer. He would often offer voluntary prayers in addition to the obligatory ones. On one occasion, he offered these prayers while riding his mount Rahila. He would face the direction of the mount and signal with his hands instead of speaking out loud as he normally did during prayer. He also prayed witr while riding Rahila. This hadith teaches us that we should be devoted in our worship and take advantage of any opportunity we have for prayer, even if it is not ideal or comfortable circumstances.
