The Mercy of Ramadan

SUMMARY: During the month of Ramadan, the gates of mercy are opened and the gates of Hell are locked and devils are chained.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: When there comes the month of Ramadan, the gates of mercy are opened, and the gates of Hell are locked and the devils are chained,
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ، وَابْنُ، حُجْرٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ - عَنْ أَبِي سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، - رضى الله عنه - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا جَاءَ رَمَضَانُ فُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ النَّارِ وَصُفِّدَتِ الشَّيَاطِينُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the blessings that come with the month of Ramadan. It is said that during this month, Allah opens up His gates of mercy for us to receive His blessings. Additionally, He locks up the gates to Hell and chains up all devils so they cannot cause any harm or mischief. This is a great blessing from Allah as it allows us to focus on our worship without any distractions or temptations from Shaytan. Furthermore, it teaches us that we should take advantage of this time by doing good deeds and seeking forgiveness from Allah for our sins so we can be blessed with His mercy in this life and in the hereafter.
