Sahih al-Bukhari 994 (Book 14, Hadith 5) #959
The Night Prayer of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to pray 11 rak'at at night and two rak'at before the Fajr prayer. His prostration was so long that one could recite 50 verses in it.

Narrated 'A'isha: Allah's Messenger used to pray eleven rak'at at night and that was his night prayer and each of his prostrations lasted for a period enough for one of you to recite fifty verses before Allah's Messenger raised his head. He also used to pray two rak'at (Sunnah) before the (compulsory) Fajr prayer and then lie down on his right side till the Mu'adh-dhin came to him for the prayer.

QUICK LESSONS:
Make your prayers meaningful by reciting Quran or making duas during them instead of rushing through them quickly without any concentration or focus on what you are saying or doing.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'A'isha tells us about the night prayer of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. He used to pray 11 rak’ats at night and two rak’ats before Fajr prayer. During his prostration, he would stay in that position for a long time such that one could recite 50 verses during this period. This shows us how devoted he was to his prayers and how much importance he gave to worshipping Allah Almighty. It also teaches us about patience and perseverance as we should strive to make our prayers meaningful by reciting Quran or making duas during them instead of rushing through them quickly without any concentration or focus on what we are saying or doing.
