QUICK LESSONS:
Be kind & merciful towards those around you & strive to do good deeds

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a man from the Ansar, Abu Madhkur, who granted posthumous freedom to his slave Ya'qub. Posthumous freedom is when a master grants their slave their freedom after they have passed away. This act of kindness and mercy was done by Abu Madhkur and it shows us that we should always be kind and merciful towards those around us, even if they are not able to do anything in return for us. We should also remember that Allah will reward us for our good deeds no matter what form they take. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said “Whoever sets free a believing soul, Allah will save all his body parts from the Fire of Hell even if he has committed all kinds of sins” [Sahih al-Bukhari]. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to do good deeds as it can benefit both ourselves and others in this life and the hereafter.
