SUMMARY: A Muslim is not obligated to give charity on their slave or horse.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's messenger as saying: No Sadaqa is due from a Muslim on his slave or horse.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous and help those who are less fortunate than you whenever possible.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the obligation of charity in Islam. According to this hadith, a Muslim does not have to give charity on their slave or horse. This means that if a person owns a slave or horse, they do not have to pay any money as charity for them. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we should be generous and help those who are less fortunate than us, but this hadith shows us that there are some exceptions when it comes to giving charity. We should still strive to be generous and help those in need whenever possible, but we should also remember that there are certain circumstances where it is not necessary for us to give charity.
