This hadith emphasizes the importance of properly shrouding a deceased person and offering funeral prayer for them. It was narrated by Jabir b. 'Abdullah that Allah's Messenger mentioned in one of his sermons about a companion who died and was buried during the night without being shrouded properly, which is only permissible when it becomes a dire necessity for someone. The Prophet then reprimanded his audience, saying that when any one of you shrouds his brother, he should do so well. This hadith teaches us to take care in burying our dead with respect and dignity, as well as to offer funeral prayers for them if possible.
