Sahih Muslim 892d (Book 8, Hadith 19) #9206
The Prophet's Kindness and Generosity

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stood at the door of A'isha's apartment to allow her to watch the Abyssinians playing with their daggers in the mosque, and stayed there until she was satisfied.

'A'isha reported: BY Allah, I remember the Messenger of Allah standing on the door of my apartment screening me with his mantle enabling me to see the sport of the Abyssinians as they played with their daggers in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). He (the Holy Prophet) kept standing for my sake till I was satiated and then I went back; and thus you can well imagine how long a girl tender of age who is fond of sports (could have watched it).

QUICK LESSONS:
Be kind and generous towards others; understand children's interests; remember your actions have an impact on those around you; show respect for places of worship like mosques etc..

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the kindness and generosity of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He allowed 'A'isha, a young girl who was fond of sports, to watch the Abyssinians play with their daggers in his mosque. He stood at her door for as long as it took for her to be satiated by what she saw. This hadith teaches us that we should always be kind and generous towards others, especially children who are fond of sports or activities that may not necessarily be seen as appropriate by adults. We should also remember that our actions have an impact on those around us; even if we do not intend it, our behavior can influence how others perceive us and how they act towards us in return.
