Reciting Quran During Friday Prayers

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to recite certain verses from the Quran during the dawn prayer on Fridays.

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray regularly, read and understand Quranic verses

EXPLANATIONS:
Every Friday, the Prophet Muhammad would recite certain verses from the Quran during his dawn prayer. These verses were Alif Lam Mim Tanzil in the first rak’ah and “Surely there came over man a time when he was nothing that could be mentioned” in the second rak’ah. This is an example of how important it is for Muslims to read and understand their holy book, as even our beloved prophet did so every week. It also shows us how important it is to pray regularly, as this was something that our prophet did without fail every week. By following his example, we can become closer to Allah and learn more about His teachings through His words in the Quran.
