Sahih Muslim 857a (Book 7, Hadith 37) #9134
The Power of Jumu'a Prayer

SUMMARY: Taking a bath, attending Jumu'a prayer and keeping silent until the Imam finishes the sermon will result in forgiveness of sins for up to three days.

Abu-Huraira reported Allah's Apostle as saying: He who took a bath and then came for Jumu'a prayer and then prayed what was fixed for him, then kept silence till the Imam finished the sermon, and then prayed along with him, his sins between that time and the next Friday would be forgiven, and even of three days more.

QUICK LESSONS:
Take a bath before going for jummah prayer; remain silent till imam completes his sermon; pray along with him; repent your sins

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the power of attending Jumu’ah prayer. It is said that if one takes a bath, attends the Friday prayer and remains silent until the Imam finishes his sermon, then their sins between that time and next Friday will be forgiven. Additionally, even if they commit any sin within three days after this period, it will also be forgiven. This shows how powerful this act is in terms of seeking forgiveness from Allah SWT. It is important to note that one must remain silent during the sermon as it is considered disrespectful to talk while someone else is speaking. Furthermore, it teaches us about being mindful of our actions as we can seek repentance for our wrongdoings through acts such as attending prayers on Fridays or other days throughout the week.
