Sahih Muslim 856b (Book 7, Hadith 33) #9130
The Significance of Friday Prayers

SUMMARY: Friday is a day of prayer and meditation, which was guided to the people before us.

Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: We were guided aright to Friday (as a day of prayer and meditation), but Allah diverted those who were before us from it. The rest of the hadith is the same.

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray and Meditate on Fridays
EXPLANATIONS:
Friday is a special day for Muslims, as it is the day that Allah has chosen for them to pray and meditate. This hadith tells us that this practice was also given to those who came before us, showing how important it is in our faith. It serves as an example of how we should be devoted to our prayers and meditations on Fridays, so that we can stay connected with Allah and receive His guidance. We should also remember that this practice has been passed down from generation to generation, so it’s important for us to keep up with it too.
