Take your time when performing your prayers and recite each verse properly; Strive to emulate how Prophet Muhammad performed his prayers; Follow Allah's Messenger's example

This hadith speaks to the importance of proper recitation when performing night prayer. It was reported that a person came to Abdullah b. Mas'ud and said they had recited all the mufassal surahs in one rak'ah during their night prayer. Abdullah responded by saying that this was done too hastily and reminded them of how the Prophet Muhammad used to combine them into two rak’ahs. This teaches us that we should take our time when performing our prayers and recite each verse properly so as not to rush through it like poetry. We should also strive to emulate how Prophet Muhammad performed his prayers so as to gain reward from Allah for following His messenger’s example.
