Double Reward for Difficult Recitation of the Quran

SUMMARY: Reciting the Quran is a difficult task, but those who find it hard will be rewarded double.

This hadith has been reported with the same chain of transmitters by Qatada except with this change: " He who finds it hard (to recite the Qur'an) will have a double reward".
وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ، بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتَوَائِيِّ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثِ وَكِيعٍ ‏ "‏ وَالَّذِي يَقْرَأُ وَهُوَ يَشْتَدُّ عَلَيْهِ لَهُ أَجْرَانِ

This hadith speaks about the importance of reciting the Quran. It is a difficult task to recite and understand all of its verses and teachings. However, Allah rewards those who make an effort to do so with double reward. This means that even if one finds it hard to recite or understand the verses of the Quran they will still be rewarded for their efforts. The hadith encourages us to strive in our recitation and understanding of the holy book as we will be rewarded for our efforts no matter how small they may seem.
