Sahih Muslim 746f (Book 6, Hadith 173) #8898
Habits of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was consistent in his acts and habits, such as praying 12 rak'ahs during the day, but he did not usually pray all night or fast for a whole month except Ramadan.

'A'isha reported that when the Messenger of Allah decided upon doing any act, he continued to do it, and when he slept at night or fell sick he observed twelve rak'ahs during the daytime. I am not aware of Allah's Messenger observing prayer during the whole of the night till morning, or observing fast for a whole month continuously except that of Ramadan.
