Sahih Muslim 738e (Book 6, Hadith 156) #8881
The Night Prayer of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to pray 10 rak'ahs at night, one witr and two rak'ahs of the dawn prayer, making a total of 13 rak'ahs.

It is reported on the authority of 'A'isha that the prayer of Allah's Messenger in the night consisted of ten rak'ahs. He observed a Witr and two rak'ahs (of Sunan) of the dawn prayer, and thus the total comes to thirteen rak'ahs.

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray consistently according to Sunnah as taught by Prophet Muhammad PBUH .

EXPLANATIONS:
According to a hadith reported by Aisha, the Prophet Muhammad's night prayer consisted of ten rak'ahs. He would also perform one witr and two additional rak'ahs for the dawn prayer, making a total of thirteen. This is an example for us to follow in our own prayers as it was part of his Sunnah. We should strive to emulate his example in our own lives and practice this form of worship regularly. It is important that we remember that Allah loves those who are consistent in their prayers and rewards them greatly for it.
