Sahih Muslim 724e (Book 6, Hadith 115) #8840
Morning Prayer of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to pray two rak'ahs in the morning and recite the opening chapter of the Qur'an.

'A'isha reported: When it was dawn, the Messenger of Allah observed two rak'ahs, and I would say: Does he recite only the opening chapter of the Qur'an in it?

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform two rak’ahs every morning and recite Al-Fatihah from the Qur’an.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'A'isha tells us about the morning prayer of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Every morning, he would perform two rak’ahs and recite Al-Fatihah, which is the opening chapter of the Qur’an. This shows us how important it was for him to start his day with prayer and remembrance of Allah. It also serves as an example for us to follow in our own lives; we should strive to begin each day with a few moments dedicated to prayer and reflection on Allah's greatness. We can also take comfort in knowing that even though our beloved prophet was so busy with his mission, he still found time every day for this important ritual.
