Sahih Muslim 699a (Book 6, Hadith 35) #8760
Praying at Home on Rainy Days

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad advised people to pray in their homes on a rainy day instead of forcing them to come out and walk in the mud and slippery ground.

'Abdullah b. 'Abbas reported that he said to the Mu'adhdhin on a rainy day: When you have announced" I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," do not say:" Come to the prayer," but make this announcement:" Say prayer in your houses". He (the narrator) said that the people disapproved of it. Ibn 'Abbas said: Are you astonished at it? He (the Holy Prophet), who is better than I, did it. Jumu'a prayer is no doubt obligatory, but I do not like that I should (force you) to come out and walk in mud and slippery ground.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's advice to people on a rainy day. He suggested that they should pray in their homes instead of coming out and walking in the mud and slippery ground. This hadith teaches us that we should be considerate of others, especially when it comes to religious obligations like prayer. We should not force people to do something if it will cause them harm or difficulty, even if it is an obligation from Allah. Instead, we should be kind and understanding towards others so that they can fulfill their religious duties without any hardship or danger. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us that we must always strive for excellence even when doing something as simple as making an announcement for prayer - the Prophet Muhammad was careful not to make any mistakes or say anything wrong while making his announcement!
