Sahih Muslim 662 (Book 5, Hadith 346) #8657
The Reward of Praying in Congregation

SUMMARY: The reward of a person who prays in congregation with the Imam is greater than one who prays alone and then goes to sleep.

Abu Musa reported Allah's Messenger as saying: The most eminent among human beings (as a recipient of) reward (is one) who lives farthest away, and who has to walk the farthest distance, and he who waits for the prayer to observe it along with the Imam, his reward is greater than one who prays (alone) and then goes to sleep. In the narration of Abu Kuraib (the words are):" (He waits) till he prays along with the Imam in congregation".

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray in congregation with an Imam
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of praying in congregation with an Imam. It teaches us that when we pray together as a group, our reward is greater than if we were to pray alone and then go to sleep. This is because when we come together as a community for prayer, it brings us closer together and strengthens our bond with each other. We are also able to learn from each other’s prayers and benefit from the collective energy that comes from praying together. Additionally, it shows us how important it is to be patient and wait for the prayer time so that we can join others in prayer rather than just going straight back home after work or school.
