Praying 'Asr Prayer Despite Adversity

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was angry when the enemies diverted him from saying the 'Asr prayer and he prayed it between the evening and night prayers.

'Ali reported: The Messenger of Allah said on the day (of the Battle) of Ahzab: They diverted us from saying the middle prayer, i. e. the 'Asr prayer. May Allah fill their houses and graves with fire; he then observed this prayer between the evening prayer and the night prayer.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ، عَنْ شُتَيْرِ بْنِ شَكَلٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الأَحْزَابِ ‏ "‏ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ صَلاَّهَا بَيْنَ الْعِشَاءَيْنِ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

This hadith is about how Prophet Muhammad's determination to pray despite adversity. On the day of Ahzab, his enemies tried to divert him from praying 'Asr prayer but he still managed to pray it between Maghrib and Isha prayers. This hadith teaches us that we should never give up on our religious obligations no matter what obstacles come in our way. We should be determined in fulfilling our duties as Muslims even if we face difficulties or opposition from others. It also shows us that Allah will punish those who try to stop us from doing good deeds or fulfilling our religious obligations.
