Anger at Interruption of Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) expressed his anger and displeasure at the enemies who had prevented him from performing the middle prayer on the day of Ahzab.

'Ali reported: When it was the day (of the Battle) of Ahzab, the Messenger of Allah said: May Allah fill their graves and houses with fire, as they detained us and diverted us from the middle prayer, till the sun set.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الأَحْزَابِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَلأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا حَبَسُونَا وَشَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ

EXPLANATIONS:
On the day of Ahzab, Prophet Muhammad was prevented from performing his middle prayer due to enemies. This made him very angry and he expressed his displeasure by wishing that Allah would fill their graves and houses with fire. This hadith teaches us that we should never be deterred from our religious obligations no matter what obstacles come in our way. We should also be mindful of how we treat others as it is important to respect each other's beliefs and practices.
