Sahih al-Bukhari 881 (Book 11, Hadith 6) #852
The Rewards of Attending Friday Prayer

SUMMARY: Taking a bath on Friday and attending the prayer in the first hour is equivalent to sacrificing an animal in Allah's cause.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (pbuh) said, "Any person who takes a bath on Friday like the bath of Janaba and then goes for the prayer (in the first hour ie early), it is as if he had sacrificed a camel (in Allah's cause); and whoever goes in the second hour it is as if he had sacrificed a cow; and whoever goes in the third hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a horned ram; and if one goes in the fourth hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a hen; and whoever goes in the fifth hour then it is as if he had offered an egg. When the Imam comes out (ie starts delivering the Khutba), the angels present themselves to listen to the Khutba".

QUICK LESSONS:
Attend Jumu’ah Prayers regularly & sincerely
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains the rewards of attending the Jumu'ah prayer. It was narrated by Abu Huraira that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that whoever takes a bath on Friday like the bath of Janaba and then goes for prayer in the first hour is as if he had sacrificed a camel in Allah's cause. Similarly, whoever goes for prayer in second hour is as if he had sacrificed a cow; third hour - horned ram; fourth hour - hen; fifth hour - egg. When Imam comes out to deliver Khutba, angels present themselves to listen to it. This hadith teaches us about how important it is to attend Jumu'ah prayers and how much reward we can get from it if we do so with sincerity and dedication. It also shows us how much importance angels give to listening Khutba which should motivate us even more towards attending this blessed day’s prayers regularly.
