Prostration with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: Prostration was done by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when reciting certain verses from the Quran.

Abu Huraira reported: We performed prostration along with the Messenger of Allah (as he recited these verses: )" When the heaven burst asunder" and" Read in the name of Thy Lord" (al-Qur'an, xcvi. 1).
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ مِينَاءَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ سَجَدْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ فِي ‏{‏ إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ‏}‏ وَ ‏{‏ اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ‏}‏

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Abu Huraira tells us that when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recited certain verses from the Quran, he and his companions would perform prostration. This is an important lesson for us to learn as it shows us how devoted and dedicated they were to their faith. It also teaches us that we should be just as devoted and dedicated in our own faith, no matter what religion we may follow. We should strive to read and understand the words of God, so that we can live our lives according to His will. Furthermore, this hadith also serves as a reminder for us to always show respect towards our religious texts and teachings, no matter what form they may take.
