Sahih al-Bukhari 872 (Book 10, Hadith 263) #843
Praying in Darkness

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to lead the Fajr prayer in darkness and the believing women would return home without being recognized.

Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Messenger used to offer the Fajr prayer when it was still dark and the believing women used to return (after finishing their prayer) and nobody could recognize them owing to darkness, or they could not recognize one another.

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray during dark times
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Aisha speaks of the importance of prayer and how it should be done even when it is dark outside. It also speaks of the faithfulness of believing women who would go out to pray in darkness and then return home without being recognized. This shows that they were devoted to their faith and willing to put themselves at risk for it. It also teaches us that we should not let anything stop us from fulfilling our religious obligations, no matter how difficult or dangerous they may seem.
