Sahih Muslim 557b (Book 5, Hadith 80) #8395
Eating Before Praying

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised to not rush to prayer when supper is served, but rather eat first.

Anas b. Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah said: When the supper is brought before you, and it is also the time to say prayer, first take food before saying evening prayer and do not hasten (to prayer, leaving aside the food).

This hadith emphasizes that it is important to take care of our physical needs before attending to our spiritual needs, and that we should not rush away from food in order to pray. It teaches us that we should be mindful and take our time with both activities, as they are both important for a balanced life. This hadith also reminds us that Allah has given us blessings in this world which we should enjoy and appreciate while still fulfilling our religious obligations.
