Sahih al-Bukhari 868 (Book 10, Hadith 259) #839
Consideration for Mothers in Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) would shorten his prayer when he heard the cries of a child, out of consideration for the mother.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatada Al-Ansari: My father said, "Allah's Messenger said, "Whenever I stand for prayer, I want to prolong it but on hearing the cries of a child, I would shorten it as I dislike to put its mother in trouble".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of considering others in our actions. In this case, it is specifically about considering mothers who are caring for their children. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was known to be very compassionate and understanding towards people's needs and circumstances. He shortened his prayer when he heard a child crying out of consideration for the mother who was likely struggling to care for her child at that moment. This teaches us that we should always be mindful and considerate of other people's situations before taking any action or making decisions that may affect them negatively. We should also strive to show compassion towards those around us by being understanding and accommodating whenever possible.
