Paying Attention During Prayer

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of paying attention and being focused during prayer.

Abdullah (b. Masu'd) reported: We used to greet the Messenger of Allah while he was engaged in prayer and he would respond to our greeting. EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of paying attention and being focused during prayer. It is narrated by Abdullah b. Masu'd, who recounts how he and his companions used to greet the Prophet Muhammad while he was praying, and he would respond to their greeting. However, when they returned from visiting the Negus, they greeted him while he was praying but this time he did not respond to them. He explained that prayer requires one's full attention in order for it to be accepted by Allah. This teaches us that we should be mindful of our prayers and give them our full focus so that we can reap its rewards in this life and hereafter. We should also remember that Allah is always watching us so we must strive to make sure our prayers are sincere with no distractions or interruptions from outside sources such as phones or conversations with others around us.
