Sahih al-Bukhari 863 (Book 10, Hadith 254) #834
Giving Alms During Eid Prayer

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a person asking Ibn 'Abbas if he ever presented himself at the ('Id) prayer with Allah's Apostle. He replied yes and explained that it was only possible due to his kinship with the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) then went to the mark near the house of Kathir bin As-Salt and delivered a sermon, after which he went towards the women and asked them to give alms.

Narrated 'Abdur Rahman bin 'Abis: A person asked Ibn 'Abbas, "Have you ever presented yourself at the ('Id) prayer with Allah's Apostle?" He replied, "Yes". And had it not been for my kinship (position) with the Prophet it would not have been possible for me to do so (for he was too young). The Prophet went to the mark near the house of Kathir bin As-Salt and delivered a sermon. He then went towards the women. He advised and reminded them and asked them to give alms. So the woman would bring her hand near her neck and take off her necklace and put it in the garment of Bilal. Then the Prophet and Bilal came to the house".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how one should conduct themselves during an Eid prayer. It was narrated by 'Abdur Rahman bin 'Abis who said that a person asked Ibn 'Abbas if he ever presented himself at an Eid prayer with Allah's Apostle. He replied yes and explained that it was only possible due to his kinship with the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet then went to a mark near Kathir bin As-Salt's house where he delivered a sermon before going towards the women and asking them for alms. The women would take off their necklaces and put them in Bilal's garment as charity or sadaqah. This hadith teaches us about giving charity or sadaqah during an Eid prayer, which is one of its important aspects, as well as being mindful of our relationship with others when attending such prayers. It also reminds us of our responsibility towards those less fortunate than ourselves by encouraging us to give generously in order to help those in need.
