Conversation about the Church in Presence of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a conversation between some companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in his presence during his last illness, where Umm Salama and Umm Habiba mentioned the church.

'A'isha reported: They (some Companions of the Holy Prophet) were conversing with one another in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (during his last) illness. Umm Salama and Umm Habiba made a mention of the church and then narrated.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهُمْ تَذَاكَرُوا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَذَكَرَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ وَأُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ كَنِيسَةً ‏.‏ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a conversation that took place between some companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during his last illness. Umm Salama and Umm Habiba made a mention of the church which was being discussed among them. This hadith teaches us to be respectful when discussing religious matters in front of people who are more knowledgeable than us, especially when it comes to our beloved prophet ﷺ. We should also be mindful not to talk ill or disrespect any other religion or its followers as it can lead to misunderstandings and hurt feelings.
