Praying with a Single Garment

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was seen praying in a single garment with its ends crossing each other and placing on his shoulders.

Umar b. Abu Salama reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah praying in a single garment with its ends crossing each other'.Isa b. Hammad added:" placing on his shoulders".
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَعِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُلْتَحِفًا مُخَالِفًا بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ ‏.‏ زَادَ عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ قَالَ عَلَى مَنْكِبَيْهِ

This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's prayer habits. It is reported that Umar b. Abu Salama saw the Messenger of Allah praying in a single garment, with its ends crossing each other and placing it on his shoulders. This hadith teaches us that we should be modest when we pray, as the Prophet was modest in his clothing while he prayed to Allah Almighty.
