Glorifying Allah in the Mosque

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad seeking a place in the mosque to glorify Allah and it being between the pulpit and qibla.

Salama b. Akwa' reported: He sought the place (in the mosque) where the copies of the Qur'an were kept and glorified Allah there, and the narrator made a mention that the Messenger of Allah sought that place and that was between the pulpit and the qibla-a place where a goat could pass.

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek places for worshipping God with reverence; Be mindful when worshipping; Respectful behaviour inside mosques; Follow directions while praying towards Kaaba in Mecca .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Prophet Muhammad seeking a place in the mosque to glorify Allah, which was between the pulpit and qibla, which is also known as mihrab. The pulpit or minbar is an elevated platform from where sermons are delivered during Friday prayers while qiblah refers to direction of prayer towards Kaaba in Mecca. This hadith teaches us that we should seek places of worship for praising God and that we should be mindful of our surroundings when doing so. It also reminds us that mosques are places for worshipping God and not for any other activities like playing or running around, as these activities can be distracting for others who are praying or reciting Quran there.
