Supplicating for Forgiveness

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would always make a supplication to Allah for forgiveness after the revelation of certain verses.

'A'isha reported: Never did I, see the Messenger of Allah after the revelation (of these verses):" When Allah's help and victory came". observing- his prayer without making (this supplication) or he said in it (supplication): Hallowed be Thee, my Lord, and with Thy praise, O Allah, forgive me.
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُفَضَّلٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ مُنْذُ نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ ‏{‏ إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ‏}‏ يُصَلِّي صَلاَةً إِلاَّ دَعَا أَوْ قَالَ فِيهَا ‏"‏ سُبْحَانَكَ رَبِّي وَبِحَمْدِكَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي

EXPLANATIONS:
After the revelation of certain verses in the Quran, Prophet Muhammad PBUH would always make a supplication to Allah asking for forgiveness. This is an important lesson that we can learn from our beloved Prophet and strive to emulate his example. We should remember that no matter how much good we do or how many sins we avoid committing, it is only through Allah's mercy and grace that we can be forgiven. Therefore, it is important to ask for His forgiveness regularly and sincerely in order to receive His blessings.
