Reciting the Quran During Bowing and Prostration

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forbade Ali b. Abi Talib from reciting the Quran while in a state of bowing and prostration.

'Ali b. Abi Talib reported: The Messenger of Allah forbade me from the recitation (of the Qur'an) in bowing and prostration and I do not say that he forbade you.
وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَلاَ أَقُولُ نَهَاكُمْ
